Notice text

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) intends to award, on a sole-source basis, a fixed price purchase order to Flux, 500 Westover Drive, Suite # 1604, Sanford, NC 27330.

Flux will provide Flux QA Licenses as well as Annual Support and Maintenance for the licenses.

Market research efforts have indicated that only Flux is able to provide the software and maintenance as required by BLS to support Flux is a Java job scheduling component. Flux provides a core scheduling engine plus a number of Java communication mechanisms to use the engine. Flux supports timed and conditioned job scheduling, providing a stable and reliable foundation for flexible and automated job scheduling. Flux's REST communication capability greatly simplifies the effort needed to implement the communication within the Job Control System (JCS Server and the JCS agents). Overall, using Flux greatly reduces the risk involved in developing and maintaining the JCS system.

Flux is the only responsible provider to provide the licenses and maintenance on those licenses for BLS. Therefore, Flux is the only responsible source to provide the requested maintenance.

The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition for this simplified acquisition is FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).

This is not a request for competitive quotes; however, all interested sources who believe they can meet the requirements may submit a capability statement no later than March 6, 2014 to the point of contact for this notice. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement and will be at the sole discretion of the Contracting Officer.
