About this opportunity

The United States Marine Corps, specifically the Program Executive Officer for Land Systems (PEO LS), has issued a Notice of Intent to Sole Source for the Denied Area Sprinter-Hellfire (DASH) system. This special notice, posted on January 30, 2026, indicates the Marine Corps' intention to award a hybrid contract (Firm-Fixed Price and Cost Type) on a sole-source basis to V2X, Indianapolis Branch. The acquisition is being pursued under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii), which permits sole-source procurement when only one responsible source exists and can satisfy the agency's requirements. This notice is informational in nature and does not constitute a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may submit capability statements to demonstrate their interest and capability to respond to the requirement.

The Marine Corps seeks to procure the DASH system to fulfill a critical capability gap for detecting, identifying, tracking, and defeating small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in support of dismounted Marines. The requirement is for up to 50 systems, including training, initial spares, and reimbursable repairs, with an initial delivery of two systems no later than May 30, 2026, and delivery of the remaining 48 systems by December 2026 to meet an FY27 initial operational capability requirement. Interested contractors have fifteen calendar days from the publication date to submit a capability statement expressing their interest and capability to respond. The DASH system is already at Technology Readiness Level 9, indicating mature technology ready for deployment. The Government retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete this requirement based on responses received, and the total contract value and specific award timeline are not disclosed in this notice.
