About this opportunity
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has published a Notice of Intent to Sole Source for a software modification procurement with G2K Labs, Inc., located in McLean, Virginia. This special notice announces the DEA's intention to negotiate a sole source, firm fixed-price purchase order for modifications to existing G2K Labs software systems. The procurement falls under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 334290 for Other Communications Equipment Manufacturing and will be conducted through FAR Part 12 for commercial products and services. The notice was posted on September 19, 2025, with a response deadline of September 23, 2025. In accordance with federal procurement regulations, the DEA is providing an opportunity for other vendors to demonstrate their capabilities before finalizing the sole source award.
The underlying project involves modernizing the DEA Judicial Wire Intercept Program (JWIP) in Lima, with an estimated contract value of $1,292,542.00 and a performance period from September 25, 2025, to September 24, 2026. The objective is to upgrade hardware and software components of existing G2K Mediation systems originally installed in 2019, enhancing Lima's judicial intercept capabilities and improving drug trafficking investigations through a consolidated information analysis platform. Vendors who believe they can meet the government's requirements may submit capability statements electronically to Nathan.J.Wright@dea.gov by the September 23 deadline. The DEA justifies the sole source approach based on G2K's unique qualifications as the original system installer and the only U.S. vendor with exclusive technical expertise and proprietary rights necessary for modifying the existing DEA Lima collection system. However, the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to open the requirement to full competition based on any responses received to this notice.
