About this opportunity

The Corporation for National and Community Service published a Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source a contract for grantee background check services. The Notice seeks to award a contract to Truescreen, Inc. to provide FBI fingerprint-based checks, obtain state and national sex offender registry records, and provide adjudication recommendations for grant recipients through their network of over 1,750 fingerprint locations.

The purpose is to continue providing necessary background check coverage for AmeriCorps grant recipients under the existing contract with Truescreen, which expires in January 2024. Interested parties had until December 29, 2023 to submit a capability statement for consideration, however a determination to award sole source was within the agency's discretion based on Truescreen being the only provider able to meet requirements like coverage, system integration, and ensuring service continuity. The NAICS code is 561611 for investigation and personal background check services, and the small business size standard is $25 million.
