About this opportunity

The Western Area Power Administration's Rocky Mountain Region has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to sole source the repair of an Altec AH100 Bucket Truck to Aerial Equipment Specialists, Inc., located in Commerce City, Colorado. The Department of Energy agency plans to conduct this procurement under FAR Parts 12 and 13, with the repair services involving specialized parts and maintenance for the utility vehicle. The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to inform potential contractors of the government's intent to proceed with sole source procurement while providing an opportunity for other qualified vendors to demonstrate their capabilities. Although this is explicitly not a request for competitive proposals or quotes, responsible sources may submit capability statements demonstrating their ability to satisfy the government's requirements by 3:00 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time on July 14, 2025. All capability statements must be submitted electronically to the contracting officer and include comprehensive documentation of the contractor's qualifications and capacity to perform the required repair services. The government retains full discretion to determine whether to proceed with competition based on any responses received, and all inquiries must be directed via email as phone calls will not be accepted. Contractors interested in this opportunity should focus on documenting their technical expertise with Altec AH100 bucket trucks and their ability to provide the specialized repair services and parts required by the Western Area Power Administration.
