Notice text
The Survivability Engineering Branch of the Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL) has made extensive use of the commercial finite element software Abaqus over the past year for research in military bridging and weapon effects on structures. Although a number of DoD-wide Abaqus licenses are available to the laboratory through the High-Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP), the high utilization of these licenses by researchers at many sites often increases the wait time before simulations start. This causes a significant bottleneck during debugging and model development. With local licenses of Abaqus from Immix Technology, Inc., jobs can be first debugged on workstations and then submitted to the HPCMP clusters. This will result in increased efficiency for computational research under this direct-funded program.
