About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Global Strike Command has published a Notice of Intent to Sole Source for bowling alley renovation work at Building 4223, Bomber Alley Bowling Center, located at the 2d Force Support Squadron. This special notice, posted on February 18, 2026, indicates the Air Force's determination that QubicaAMF Worldwide, LLC is the only responsible source capable of meeting the project requirements. The contracting officer has justified this sole source decision under FAR 12.102(a), citing the specialized nature of the bowling center's needs and the necessity for compatibility with existing equipment and infrastructure. The procurement falls under the Sporting and Athletic Goods Manufacturing NAICS category and is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside.
Despite the identified sole source, the Air Force is accepting capability statements, proposals, and quotations from all responsible sources through the March 5, 2026 deadline, in accordance with FAR 5.207(16)(i). The primary objective is to obtain necessary updates and additions to existing furnishings that maintain compatibility with current infrastructure while achieving standardization and operational efficiency. Contractors interested in this opportunity should note that the emphasis on single-manufacturer system compatibility and the existing equipment specifications will be critical evaluation factors. Any alternative sources should demonstrate how they can meet the compatibility requirements and address the operational concerns that have led to the sole source designation. The Air Force intends to streamline the procurement process while remaining open to viable competing alternatives that can satisfy the bowling center's renovation needs.
Notice text
In accordance with (IAW), FAR 12.102(a), the Contracting officer has determined only one responsible source is available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
QubicaAMF Worldwide, LLC., has been identified as the sole source capable of providing the necessary updates and additions to the existing furnishings installed at Building 4223, Bomber Alley Bowling Center, 2d Force Support Squadron. This justification outlines the exclusive nature of Qubica's offerings, the requirements of the project, and the critical need for compatibility with the existing equipment within the facility.
Given the specialized nature of the Bowling Center's needs, the requirement for compatibility with existing infrastructure, and the clear operational efficiencies of a single-manufacturer system, QubicaAMF is the only viable source for this project. Pursuing any alternative would compromise compatibility, standardization and the overall alignment with existing infrastructure while subjecting the Air Force to additional costs and risks. Therefore, procuring these services from QubicaAMF via a sole source acquisition is both necessary and justified.
Subject to FAR 5.207(16)(i), All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.
