About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force, specifically the 5th Contracting Squadron at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a single-source supply contract to Eagle Safe Surfaces Colorado Inc. (trading as Eagle & Myslik Inc.). The contract is for the procurement of 26 SIB Airport Cassette Runway Brushes, specifically Part # 4021593, which are designed to be compatible with SIB 18ft-R28-Split Core snow removal vehicles. This procurement will be conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures as authorized by FAR 13.106-1(b), with a Product Service Code of 3825 and a NAICS code of 488119. The notice is being published for informational purposes and represents a planned firm fixed-price commercial purchase.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to inform potential contractors about the intended sole-source procurement while providing an opportunity for other vendors to demonstrate their capability to meet the requirement. Interested parties who believe they can provide the specified runway brushes are invited to submit written information describing their ability to provide the supply by Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 4:00 PM CDT. The government retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the requirement based on responses received. Market research has already confirmed that Eagle Safe Surfaces is the authorized U.S. distributor for these specific SIB replacement brushes, and comprehensive searches using tools like the Dynamic Small Business Search Tool, GSA Advantage, and Federal Procurement Data System have not identified alternative sources. The total contract value is approximately $185,000, with the brushes to be delivered directly to Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota.
