About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New York District intends to restrict competition for a fixed price contract to repair the Patrol Boat HOCKING, with responses due by August 12, 2026. The solicitation is restricted to shipyards within New York Harbor waters safely accessible to the vessel in its current condition: bounded by the Verrazano Bridge to the south, Williamsburg Bridge on the East River to the east, Stony Point on the Hudson River to the north, and Bayonne Bridge to the west. The HOCKING's starboard main engine requires rebuilding and is inoperative; only one shaft is operational, limiting the vessel's transit range to the NY Harbor area. The vessel is currently berthed at Caven Point Marine Terminal in Jersey City, New Jersey, and may require tug assistance to reach a contractor facility. The work encompasses all labor, materials, fittings, equipment, tools, power, compressed air, heat, and water necessary to perform repairs on the 64-foot, 9-inch all-welded aluminum monohull, which displaces 213 short tons and is powered by two 12V-71 GM Detroit engines with 64-inch propellers.
