About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Test and Evaluation Command published a Notice of Intent to Award Using Other Than Full and Open Competition to provide peer-to-peer suicide prevention training at Fort Hood. The training will focus on educating soldiers about evidence-based practices for firearms and lethal means safety using didactic, interactive, and multimedia elements featuring current or former military members discussing their experiences managing firearms access during times of suicide risk.
The sole source justification document provides further details. Specifically, the 418th Contracting Support Brigade at Fort Hood intends to award a sole source contract to Forge Foundation Inc. to deliver the peer-to-peer suicide prevention training. The training will have a base period of six months and an optional six month extension. Market research found Forge Foundation is the only company currently utilizing peer-to-peer counseling and training coinciding with personally owned weapons safety practices, making it the sole responsible source able to meet the agency's requirements. The anticipated award date is after November 7, 2022, and interested parties were invited to submit information by that date describing their ability to provide similar products or services.
