Notice text

This is a notification that the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) intends to award a sole source, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract under statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only One responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy the Agency Requirements. This contract will be awarded to Alaska Aerospace Corporation (AAC), 4300 B St # 101, Anchorage, AK, 99503, to support flight test requirements for the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) in the Pacific Northwest at the Pacific Spaceport Complex Alaska (PSCA), in Kodiak, Alaska.

The MDA has a requirement to flight test the missile defense systems in realistic deployment scenarios including the interception of target vehicles, track exercises and interoperations with other missile defense systems. MDA requires use of a launch facility and range services in the Pacific Northwest to conduct these tests. The PSCA's unique combination of geography, force protection, and infrastructure capability is unavailable at any other land-based location in the Northern Pacific Region of the BMDS Test Bed. There are no other options currently available for long-range Space launches from the Northern Pacific. AAC has management authority of the PSCA per Alaska Statute, and removal of AAC as the PSCA operator would require a change to the Alaska Legislation.

The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 541712 with a size standard of 1,250 employees. This NAICS is applicable for subcontracting opportunities.
