About this opportunity
The USDA Forest Service intends to award sole source to Gainesville Motorsports in Gainesville, Georgia for procurement of a 2026 Polaris R26T6E99AJ Fire UTV estimated at $20,115.11 with a desired delivery date of May 1, 2026. The Polaris Ranger Crew is the only machine meeting specific technical requirements for wildland fire suppression and hazardous fuels reduction operations while fitting existing district trailers and being compatible with current tow vehicles and equipment. The procurement replaces a single-seat Honda ATV no longer authorized for wildland fire use and upgrades to a six-person capacity vehicle with 1,000-pound cargo box, 1,700-pound payload, 4-wheel disk brakes, full body skid plates, winch, work lights, and 2,500-pound towing capacity. Gainesville Motorsports, a locally owned dealership within five miles of the Forest Supervisor's Office at Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest's Conasauga Ranger District, provides unique local service capability for mission-critical repairs and maintenance. The government gains financial advantage through trade-in credit. The Contracting Officer concurred with the sole-source justification on May 14, 2026.
