Update #1 ·

PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE CAREFULLY AS IT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY NOTICE THAT WILL BE PUBLISHED. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a one-time, sole source, fixed price contract with Thermo Electron North America LLC, 5225 Verona Road, Madison WI 53711 for the purpose of procuring two (2) Integrion Ion Chromatography (IC) Systems.

The FBI's Laboratory requires a Thermo Scientific IC System to accurately analyze explosive residues of Improvised Explosives Devices (IEDs). Multiple IC systems are required for the identification of residues of explosives, and their precursors, from a variety of different matrices. The FBI requires the IC systems manufactured by Thermo Scientific for direct support of their mission. Thermo Scientific is the only manufacturer that produces IC systems that offer online generation of methane sulfonic acid and potassium carbonate eluents and electrolytic self/external regenerating eluent (anion and cation) suppression. Both of these features are required to meet the FBI's needs in order to properly perform its duties.

Based on market research, and Government end-users, it has been determined that Thermo Scientific is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the Integrion Ion Chromatography System. Therefore, Thermo Electron North America LLC is the only supplier capable providing the required products.
