About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has published a Special Notice regarding its intent to award a 3-year non-competitive contract to the MITRE Corporation for development support of its cybersecurity program. This action is being taken in accordance with FAR 6.302-3, which allows agencies to use non-competitive procedures to establish or maintain an essential engineering, research, or development capability to be provided by a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC).
The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform interested parties that the DOE requires the special relationship and capabilities of MITRE, operating as a FFRDC, to support its cybersecurity program. The notice states that this is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals, and parties are instructed to provide any questions by 5:00 PM on May 17, 2024 to the specified DOE point of contact. The eligibility criteria for this contract is limited to the MITRE Corporation, as the DOE has determined that MITRE's status as an FFRDC free from organizational conflicts of interest is essential to meeting the department's cybersecurity support needs.
