About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Space Command, specifically the 2nd Range Operations Squadron at Vandenberg Space Force Base, has issued a Special Notice for a brand-name procurement action for a Blue Sky Antenna Mast AL2 Lift Series Winch. The procurement is specifically for a unique antenna mast system designed to support Cambium Networks PTP600 and PTP700 Microwave Antennas. Market research indicates that the Blue Sky Antenna Mast is the only product capable of meeting the squadron's technical requirements, which include extending up to 5 meters and enabling direct line of sight communication across terrain. The acquisition falls under NAICS code 334220 for Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications Equipment Manufacturing, with a business size standard of 1,250 employees. The notice is for a non-competitive procurement under the Authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).

Contractors interested in this opportunity have until February 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM PST to submit a response challenging the brand-name justification. To be considered, firms must provide a detailed interest letter demonstrating their ability to provide an equivalent supply that meets the specified requirements. The government will review all proposals received within 7 days of the notice's publication and retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the contract action. The procurement is for 8 Blue Sky Antenna Mast Kits, each containing specific components like a wheeling carrying bag, tripod, winch, mast poles, and ground equipment necessary for rapid deployment in rugged field environments. Interested parties should contact Contracting Officer Chris Hummel or Contracting Specialist Paul Baraldi and reference contract number FA461025QBSAW. The 30th Contracting Squadron will not reimburse any costs associated with submitting capability information.
