About this opportunity
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), part of the Department of the Treasury, has issued a special notice announcing its intent to award a sole source contract for NotaMesh Optical Variable (OV) 230 Mesh Screens. The screens are required for rotary screen presses and will be procured from Koenig & Bauer Banknote Solutions under a firm-fixed-price contract arrangement. The BEP's Office of the Chief Procurement Officer is handling this procurement on behalf of the Office of Facilities Support. This notice falls under the industrial machinery manufacturing sector and specifically relates to printing and duplicating equipment. The procurement will utilize a Justification and Approval process in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations Subpart 13.5.
The primary purpose of this special notice is to inform potential contractors of the government's intent to proceed with a non-competitive, sole source award rather than to solicit competitive bids or proposals. Interested parties who wish to submit capability statements, comments, questions, or concerns must do so exclusively via email to erica.hemphill@bep.gov by 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on July 14, 2025. Any contractors responding to this notice must be registered and maintain active status in the System for Award Management (SAM) at sam.gov to be considered eligible. The government emphasizes that any costs associated with preparing and submitting responses are the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed. Information received through this notice will only be used to determine whether the government should conduct a competitive procurement instead of the planned sole source award.
