About this opportunity
The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division located in China Lake, CA, intends to procure an Eddy Current Measurement Instrument EddyCus Lab 2020 TM, which is a non-contact sheet resistance meter specifically designed for small, high resistance samples. The procurement is being conducted on a sole-source basis with Reedholm Systems from Georgetown, TX, as the sole manufacturer meeting their unique technical requirements. Interested firms may submit a written response referencing solicitation number N6893625Q5015 within 5 days of the publication date, which must include a comprehensive capability statement demonstrating experience, assets, background, and ability to perform the work without compromising quality, accuracy, reliability, or schedule. All respondents must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database and maintain an active status. Written responses should be submitted via email to Beth Exzabe at Beth.a.exzabe.civ@us.navy.mil by February 24, 2025.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this contract opportunity, and the procurement is classified under NAICS category 334515 for Instrument Manufacturing for Measuring and Testing Electricity and Electrical Signals. The Physical Properties Testing and Inspection (PSC 6635) categorization further defines the technical scope of the procurement. While no specific award value or budget range is mentioned, the contract appears focused on acquiring a specialized scientific instrument with precise technical specifications. The sole-source nature of the procurement suggests a highly specialized equipment need that cannot be met by multiple manufacturers. Potential vendors should be aware of the additional SAM registration requirements, which now mandate a notarized letter identifying the authorized Entity Administrator, a process that may take several days to complete.
