About this opportunity

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration seeks information on existing and planned commercial capabilities to support fire weather forecasting, detection, monitoring, and post-fire recovery through fiscal year 2030. Capabilities of interest include coupled fire-atmosphere prediction, smoke detection and forecasting, wildfire detection, fuel assessment, fire behavior analysis, weather observations, seasonal fire weather forecasting, and burn scar monitoring. Respondents shall provide capability statements by February 16, 2024 describing relevant offerings, technical approach, costs, data delivery approach, and experience. NOAA will use this market research to inform potential future solicitations to acquire commercial fire weather data and services.

There are no set-aside designations. The solicitation covers pre-fire, during-fire, and post-fire capabilities across multiple NAICS codes including 541715 under PSC code R408. A vendor conference was held to answer questions, but no incumbent was identified, award values were not specified, and the RFI focuses only on gathering information about commercial solutions over the next six fiscal years.
