About this opportunity
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to award a competitive firm-fixed price contract for the procurement of Nose Gear Launch (NGL) Assembly, Flush Deck components, Part Number 613474-7. The contract includes multiple critical safety items such as NGL Buffer Valve Manifolds, Buffer Assemblies, Charging Panels, Tensioner Controls, and Buffer Accumulators, all required to support CVN80 operations. Due to the critical safety nature of these items, the Navy plans to pursue limited competition restricted to four pre-qualified vendors: The Entwistle Company, Penn State Tool and Die Shop, Duhadaway Tool & Die Shop Inc., and Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Corporation. The procurement falls under NAICS code 333998 and will be conducted under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1 for limited sources justification. Interested parties must submit written proposals by August 20, 2025, which the Government will use to determine whether to proceed with competitive procurement.
This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to full and open competition among the four identified qualified sources. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are specifically mentioned in the notice. The contract encompasses various quantities of components including four production units of NGL Buffer Assemblies and Buffer Accumulators, along with multiple units requiring First Article Testing for Buffer Valve Manifolds, Charging Panels, and Tensioner Controls. The total quantities include both first article test units and production units across the different part numbers, though no specific contract value or budget range is disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice. The Government reserves sole discretion in determining whether to open the requirement to broader competition based on responses received to this limited competition approach.
