About this opportunity
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is procuring trade study services to support potential design changes for the Triton MQ-4C unmanned aerial system. This sole-source contract modification will be awarded to Northrop Grumman Corporation under Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) Level of Effort (LOE) terms, with the procurement authority derived from 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.103-1. The primary objective is to conduct various engineering trade studies that may inform design modifications to the MQ-4C platform, leveraging the contractor's unique expertise as the sole designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator of the system. No formal evaluation criteria are specified in this notice, as this is a sole-source procurement where competition is not anticipated. The due date for interested parties to submit information is February 12, 2026, with contract award anticipated in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026.
This opportunity is not being pursued under any small business set-aside designation. Northrop Grumman Corporation (San Diego, CA) is the incumbent and sole identified source, as the company possesses the proprietary engineering data, technical skills, and requisite knowledge of the MQ-4C UAS design, fabrication, and operational characteristics necessary to perform the required efforts. The anticipated period of performance is approximately 36 months from contract award. The specific contract value is not disclosed in this notice. Work will be performed primarily in San Diego, California, where NGC maintains its MQ-4C manufacturing and integration facilities. Interested parties should note that this synopsis is published for informational purposes only and does not constitute a request for competitive proposals; subcontracting opportunities should be pursued directly with the incumbent contractor.
