Order awarded 6/20/2017.
Update #4 ·
The work required consists of hazardous fuels reduction to be accomplished on the Red River Ranger District, Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. The hazardous fuels reduction shall be accomplished by chipping slashed trees and dead and downed material that is under 8 inches in diameter and cut in sections less than 8 feet long. The units are located in the Crooked River Watershed north of the community of Orogrande, which is a part of the South Fork Clearwater Basin.
To access the treatment units from Grangeville, follow Main St. to the East and turn right on Mt. Idaho Grade Road at the end of town. Follow Mt. Idaho Grade down to ID-14 about 10 miles. Continue east on ID-14 for approximately 35 miles. Turn right on Crooked River Road (FS-233) and head south. A vicinity map has been uploaded with this notice. Project maps and other site-specific information will be furnished with the solicitation.
Treatment units are located adjacent to FS Road 233 for approximately 6.25 miles. Total area to be treated is approximately 41 acres. Chipped material will be transported and dumped at a designated chip storage site located no more than 5.5 miles from the treatment units (one-way). Distance will become shorter as chipping progresses. Precut woody debris shall be pulled from units along the Crooked River Road (233 Rd) for a distance of up to 150 feet from the road. The majority of slash is within 50-100 feet from the road. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals required to accomplish the work as specified. The tentative completion deadline for this project is October 30th, 2017. The full solicitation shall be posted to FBO in April.
It is estimated that the complete solicitation package will be available in April and should be downloaded from this website at that time. This procurement is being set-aside 100% for small business.
Issued solicitation 5/19/2017. Organized site visit shall be held 5/31/2017. Amendment 1 was issued 5/30/17 to add requirements for the use of specific road signs during chipping operations. On 6/6/17 it was discovered that the Amendment 1 documents failed to upload to FBO. This oversight is hereby remedied. Due to the error, response deadline has been extended to Monday, June 12, 2017 at 4:00 PM local time.
