Mt Fugi Road Decommissioning - This service contract is being performed on the Powell Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests in collaboration with the Nez Perce Tribe Watershed program. The project requires decommissioning approximately 6-10 miles of road. Obliteration of the roadways requires either out-sloping the roadway to approximately 10-20% or restoring the approximate original ground contours. All roadways shall be decompacted as described and detailed in the work lists, specifications and drawings. All fill material in draws will be removed and stream channels restored to natural grade and dimensions. In addition, native forbs and shrubs will be transplanted from areas adjacent to the road. Grade control structures will be constructed in newly reconstructed stream channels.

The project is located approximately 100 miles Northeast of Kooskia, Idaho. From Kooskia, Idaho travel east on US Highway 12 to Lolo Pass Visitor Center (Montana Border). Turn right off of US Highway 12 onto FS Road 373. Travel approximately 0.6 miles on FS Road 373 to junction of FS Road 373A to the right. Turn onto FS Road 373A and travel 0.3 miles to the junction of Road 5955 Right. Turn onto FS Road 5955 travel approximately 0.3 miles to the junction of 75513/860945 (staked as 5955-T2) and beginning of project area.
