About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is seeking to procure 546 Augmentor Nozzles (NSN: 2840-01-357-1941 PR) for the F110 engine, with a requested delivery date of December 1, 2026, to Tinker AFB in Oklahoma. The solicitation (SPRTA1-25-R-0245) will use Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) source selection procedures and requires compliance with specific qualification requirements and export control regulations. Currently, only GE (CAGE Code 07482) and Beacon Industries, Inc. (CAGE Code 32816) are approved small business sources that can satisfy the government's requirements. Potential contractors must submit Source Approval Requests (SARs) and be prepared for first article testing, though waivers may be available for sources with prior Department of Defense supply experience. The proposal response deadline is June 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM, with electronic procedures being mandatory for this solicitation.
The procurement is not formally set aside for small businesses, though the size standard is 1,500 employees, and the solicitation uses a unique Supply Assurance through Multisource Contracting approach. The contract has two alternative award methods: Alternative I allows 100% award to either proven or unproven sources based on pricing and proposal submission, while Alternative II provides a split award where the proven source receives at least 60% of the quantity and an unproven source can receive up to 40%. Packaging requirements are stringent, including compliance with United Nations Wood Packaging Material restrictions and specific military packaging standards (MIL-STD-129 and MIL-STD-2073-1). The unit packaging is specified at 28.0 length x 15.0 width x 5.0 depth, with a unit pack weight of 9.00 and a cube of 1.215. Shipping will be F.O.B. Destination, with specific instructions to use the eTool System for regulatory clearances and shipping documentation.
