About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Los Angeles District held an industry day on March 5, 2026, to inform contractors about upcoming business opportunities at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. This Special Notice, posted on February 4, 2026, with an April 15, 2026 due date, announced the event details and facilitated contractor engagement with the federal government. The industry day was conducted at the Home2 Suites by Hilton near the Las Vegas Convention Center from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with separate morning and afternoon sessions available. The event attracted 228 firms representing construction, engineering, mechanical systems, environmental, and facility services companies from across the United States. USACE reserved the right to modify afternoon sessions based on participation levels and did not provide a virtual simulcast option. No refreshments were provided during the event, and attendees were required to arrange their own lunch.
The primary objectives of the industry day were to brief contractors on the Aircraft Bed Down Program at Nellis AFB and other regional military construction opportunities. Interested firms were required to RSVP directly to Roger Minami at kinya.r.minami@usace.army.mil with specific information including attendee names, titles, contact details, session preference, and program interests, with seating allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Multiple representatives from a single firm were permitted to attend, though USACE reserved the right to limit party size due to venue constraints. The projected work at Nellis AFB and other installations spanned fiscal years 2027-2030, with contract values ranging from $250,000 to $100 million per project across multiple NAICS codes. Key opportunities included non-competitive task orders such as the SABER contract ($4-185 million, Small Business/HUBZone eligible) and POCA IDIQ ($4.5 million, Small Business 8(a) eligible), as well as competitive contracts including the MACC "C2E" contract ($15 billion) and MATOC contracts ($99-110 million each) with small business set-asides. Industry day slides were made available starting March 9, 2026, for a 30-day period to provide additional details about the anticipated opportunities.
