About this opportunity
The US Geological Survey Office of Acquisitions and Grants issued a sole source Intent to Award notice for atmospheric deposition monitoring station operation services, with a challenge deadline of June 20, 2026 at 12:00 PM EST. The USGS Water Mission Area, Observing Systems Division, Hydrologic Networks Branch intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price sole source purchase order to Mr. William Parsons for the operation of NADP/NTN wet atmospheric monitoring station site NC36. The contract period is 12 months from date of award with four optional 12-month renewal periods. Performance includes weekly site visits to collect, process, and ship precipitation samples; collect, process, and transmit associated site data including precipitation gage records; and perform routine instrument checks, maintenance, and repairs as needed. The site operator will coordinate directly with key personnel at the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene, which contracts with the entire NADP network, regarding site specifications, performance, and maintenance. Mr. Parsons is identified as the only reasonably available source due to his current involvement in the NADP/NTN Program and atmospheric deposition and air quality monitoring research. Interested vendors may challenge this sole source award by contacting Contracting Officer Brian Baker at brian_baker@ios.doi.gov with an affirmative statement of capability to provide the same services.
