About this opportunity
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is seeking proposals from small business concerns to perform research and development activities for the NCI Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Innovative Concept Award Program in Fiscal Year 2025. The solicitation will focus on the development of innovative and transformative technologies in the areas of therapeutic or preventative technologies, devices, diagnostic technologies, or digital health tools for the treatment, detection, and diagnosis of Pediatric Cancers and/or Rare Cancers. Proposals will need to identify an anticipated product, the clinical problem, and cancer type(s) that will be addressed, as well as provide initial proof-of-concept data. The solicitation will also require the enhancement of entrepreneurship skills and the development of a business model and commercialization plan.
This is a total small business set-aside solicitation, with proposals only being accepted from eligible small businesses with no more than 500 employees, including affiliates. The solicitation is anticipated to be released on or around April 12, 2024, with a closing date in late September and an interim deadline in June for submission and consideration of white papers. The NCI SBIR program supports the federal SBIR program, and additional SBIR and STTR opportunities are available through the National Institutes of Health.
