Notice text

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), intends to issue a firm fixed price sole source purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures under FAR Part 13 to:

National Academy of Sciences (NAS)
2101 Constitution Avenue NW
Washington, DC  20418

The purpose of this effort is to convene stakeholder-specific implementation meetings on capital markets and population health investment.  Leveraging the National Academy of Sciences’ (NAS) National Academy of Medicine-Leadership Consortium (NAM-LC), NAS/NAM-LC shall convene three stakeholder-specific implementation meetings (two Stakeholder meetings and one Members meeting) to discuss how they can accelerate the use of capital markets and population health investment incentives for transformative progress. They are:
•    Health System Chief Medical/Financial Officers Stakeholder Meeting #1
•    Financing Community, including Private Equity, Stakeholder Meeting #2
•    Fall/Winter Members Meeting
NAS/NAM-LC shall provide reports and work products developed by the NAS/NAM-LC meetings and workshops to AHRQ.  This effort will inform AHRQ’s work in developing and providing practical information and tools to help a variety of health care organizations, providers, and others make care safer in all health care settings.

The National Academy of Sciences is the only organization that can do this work because they are a federally chartered non-profit corporation that provides independent evidence-based insight and guidance on behalf of progress in health, health care and biomedical science. On request of the United States Government, NAS can investigate, examine, experiment, and report on any subject of science and art. NAS is a nonpartisan, independent, evidence-based scientific advisory with a history of bringing together diverse stakeholders for this purpose. It is in AHRQ's best interest to support this group of stakeholders.

The period of performance is 10 months.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.

If there are any questions regarding this sole source action you may contact the contract specialist, Lisa Slavin (Lisa.Slavin@ahrq.hhs.gov) no later than the time and date specified in the posting.
