About this opportunity

This Special Notice from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center seeks screening testing of 6600 lithium-ion cells. NASA requires follow-up screening to identify any outlying or discrepant cells among those that initially passed testing.

The purpose is to have a contractor perform various tests on the 6600 cells NASA will provide, including open circuit voltage measurement, self-discharge testing, closed circuit voltage measurement, visual inspection, dimensional analysis, impedance testing, and capacity cycling with resistance measurement. Statistical analysis is also required. Contractors must submit a test plan compliant with specification EP-WI-037B and use equipment calibrated to NIST standards. The screening results report is due within 8 weeks, and cells must be returned at 10% state of charge. This opportunity has no set-aside and the deadline for responses is November 8, 2023.
