About this opportunity
NASA's National Shared Services Center has issued a Special Notice for annual access to the National Academy of Sciences Board on Human-Systems Integration (BOHSI). The agency intends to award a sole source contract to the National Academy of Sciences under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), having determined that this organization is the sole provider of the required services. The contract will provide NASA with comprehensive access to BOHSI's core activities and expert network. The procurement falls under NAICS code 541690 for Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services and is classified as commercial items and services. Performance will be located at NASA Langley Research Center with a 12-month period of performance beginning from the date of award.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to announce NASA's intent to procure partial sponsorship of BOHSI, which supports the integration of academic research scientists in policy considerations and advances human-systems integration sciences. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications in writing by 12:00 pm Central Standard Time on June 12, 2025, though oral communications are not acceptable. The government will evaluate submissions solely to determine whether the procurement might be conducted competitively, with the final decision remaining entirely at NASA's discretion. The contract will provide NASA with meeting participation rights, access to meeting minutes and reports, outreach opportunities, the ability to convene special task forces, and acknowledgement as a BOHSI sponsor. Additionally, NASA will gain access to coordination activities across National Academies units and opportunities to partner with other federal agencies through this one-year renewable arrangement.
