About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command, specifically the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC), is conducting a market research solicitation for long lead-time materials and components related to Main Propulsion Dual Clutch Assembly inspection and overhaul for the USS Anchorage (LPD-23). This Sources Sought announcement under FAR Part 12 seeks vendors capable of supplying 47 distinct line items of manufactured materials, predominantly produced by Philadelphia Gear Corp, with delivery required by May 20, 2027. Interested companies must submit letters of interest by April 3, 2026, at 6:00 PM PST to both Esther Cing and Dayen Lagunas at their respective Navy email addresses, including company name, SAM Unique Entity ID, business size, contact information, and a brief description of capabilities. The solicitation falls under NAICS 333613 (Mechanical Power Transmission Equipment Manufacturing) and PSC 2090 (Miscellaneous Ship and Marine Equipment), and responses are voluntary with no cost to the Government. This is a pre-solicitation announcement for acquisition planning purposes, and the Government makes no commitment to respond to submissions or to issue a formal solicitation.
The procurement carries a partial small business set-aside designation, indicating that a portion of the contract opportunity is reserved for small business concerns. The mandatory materials include connectors, elbows, hoses, fittings, plugs, bearings, seals, fasteners, and snap rings, while critical materials encompass bearing pins, retainer plates, spacers, grease seals, socket head cap screws, lockwashers, torque bar kits, and various other specialized components. Unit quantities range from one to 70 units across the 47 line items, with delivery scheduled to the SWRMC MACMO Shipping and Receiving facility at US Naval Station National City, California. The specific award value or budget range is not disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, as this remains a market research phase intended to assess vendor capability and availability prior to formal procurement action. Companies should note that no basis for a claim against the Government exists as a result of this announcement, and all responses are informational only for future acquisition planning.
