About this opportunity

The Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District Mobile is seeking a contractor to perform dry-docking and comprehensive repair services for the M/V LAWSON, a river pushboat constructed in 2007. The solicitation requires the selected contractor to provide all necessary labor, materials, tools, and support infrastructure to complete the specified technical repairs. The contractor will be responsible for all aspects of vessel maintenance, including potential structural alterations, equipment adjustments, and logistical movements associated with the repair process. The solicitation is currently open, with proposals due by June 13, 2025, and was originally posted on May 21, 2025. While specific evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed in the notice, the contractor will likely be assessed on their ability to comprehensively address the vessel's repair requirements and technical specifications.

The contract opportunity is not designated with any specific set-aside status, indicating it is open to all qualified contractors. The M/V LAWSON is a 96-foot river pushboat with a 40-foot beam, 8-foot-3-inch molded depth, and 388-ton displacement, originally built by Quality Shipyards in Houma, Louisiana. The contractor must provide mooring space and electricity for a 165-foot government vessel during the repair process. The project falls under NAICS Category 336611 for Ship Building and Repairing and PSC Category J019 for Maintenance, Repair, and Rebuilding of Ships and Small Craft. While no specific budget range is provided, the comprehensive nature of the required repairs suggests a potentially significant contract value for the selected contractor.
