About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command Fort Hood is seeking qualified contractors to provide museum staffing services for the continued safe and effective operation of three historic sites at Fort Riley, Kansas: the U.S. Cavalry Museum (Building 205), the 1st Infantry Division Museum (Building 207), and the Custer House historic site (Building 24A). The contractor will be responsible for delivering quality, flexible, efficient, and cost-effective museum services that support the warfighter and maintain these culturally significant facilities. Key contract requirements include compliance with applicable Wage Determinations and Consolidated Bargaining Agreements, which will be incorporated at the time of award, indicating that prevailing wage requirements will apply to all staffing positions. The evaluation will focus on the contractor's ability to meet operational and safety standards while providing efficient service delivery. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on January 29, 2026, with a deadline of February 10, 2026 for prospective bidders to submit inquiries or express interest.
This contract opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting competition to small business entities as defined by the Small Business Administration. The procurement is categorized under NAICS 712110 (Museums) and PSC R499 (Support—Professional: Other), reflecting the specialized nature of museum operations and management services. While the pre-solicitation notice does not specify the award value or budget ceiling, the contract represents a follow-on effort to continued museum operations, suggesting a replacement or renewal of existing services. The performance work statement indicates an ongoing operational contract rather than a time-limited project, with expectations for sustained facility management and visitor services across multiple museum locations. Interested small business contractors should prepare to demonstrate relevant experience in museum operations, facility management, and heritage site stewardship to be competitive for this opportunity.
