About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) has published a Special Notice regarding the Multiplexed Bus Interface 2 initiative. This notice, posted on April 24, 2026, announces the SSP's intent to issue a Request for Proposal and negotiate a Blanket Order Agreement (BOA) under the existing contract N0003025G1038. The contract has been awarded on a sole source basis to General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. This is classified as a notice of intent rather than a competitive proposal opportunity. The work falls under the Engineering Services category (NAICS 541330) and involves miscellaneous fire control equipment (PSC 1290).
The primary objectives of this effort include the identification and selection of qualified components, development of an obsolescence refresh program plan, and delivery of a comprehensive Technical Data Package (TDP) along with associated technical documentation. Contractors and interested parties should note that the due date for responses is May 9, 2026, and direct email or phone inquiries will not be accepted. Since this is a sole source award to GDMS, companies seeking involvement should pursue subcontracting opportunities rather than prime contract participation. Interested subcontractors should contact Ms. Alexis Petro, Small Business Liaison at General Dynamics Mission Systems, via email at alexis.petro@gd-ms.com to explore potential collaboration. The awarded contractor will be responsible for conducting in-progress reviews and delivering frequent status reports on both technical and financial matters throughout the program.
