About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 10 Multi Function Display (DSPL) units with National Stock Number 7H-1260-015388873-A5, specifically for repair and modification. The government intends to negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, despite being open to potential alternative sources identifying their capabilities. Interested parties have until May 27, 2025, to submit capability statements or expressions of interest, though the government retains full discretion in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The solicitation does not plan to use FAR Part 12 policies for commercial item acquisition, and interested vendors may communicate their commercial item capabilities to the contracting officer within 15 days of the notice. Technical documentation and specifications can be obtained through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) via their Document Automation and Production Service, with multiple access methods including online downloads and direct contact with their help desk.
No specific set-aside designations are applied to this contract opportunity, and the pre-solicitation notice does not reference current contractors or incumbent providers. The contract involves a quantity of 10 equipment units with delivery specified as FOB Origin, suggesting the government will not cover transportation costs. While no specific award value is disclosed, the procurement appears focused on a specialized repair and modification project for a military-grade display system. The government has explicitly determined that obtaining data rights or reverse engineering the part would be uneconomical, which likely limits potential competitive bidding. Technical documentation for the project will be version 008, and potential vendors will need to demonstrate specialized capabilities in military equipment repair and modification within the fire control equipment category.
