About this opportunity
The Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) has issued a Special Notice seeking information from potential sources to support the prototyping of a complete Multi-Domain Artillery Cannon (MDAC) prototype. The MDAC is envisioned as a wheeled self-propelled 155mm weapon system capable of firing Hypervelocity Projectiles (HVP) and interfacing with external command and control systems.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to gather information from qualified contractors who can provide the necessary technical skills, facilities, tooling, and personnel to deliver a prototype MDAC solution. Key requirements include demonstrating the ability to meet delivery timelines, with battery-level prototype deliveries no later than Q4FY27 and an Operational Demonstration in FY28. Interested contractors must clearly showcase their technical qualifications, capabilities, and experience in areas such as transportability, rate of fire, muzzle velocity, and propelling charge architecture. The Government anticipates awarding a contract in 3QFY25 to support the prototype development effort.
