About this opportunity

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, has published a Special Notice announcing an Industry Day for the Mud Mountain Dam Hardy Granite Blocks Replacement Project scheduled for September 17, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM PDT. The event will be held onsite at 30525 SE Mud Mountain Rd in Enumclaw, Washington, with specific location details and site maps provided in the attachments. The project involves replacing granite blocks within both the 23-foot and 9-foot tunnels at Mud Mountain Dam, with the government seeking qualified contractors capable of performing this specialized civil works construction. The notice indicates there are multiple Industry Day sessions, with an additional session scheduled for September 19, 2025. Attendance is restricted to two personnel per company, and pre-registration is required following specified procedures.

The primary purpose of this Industry Day is to provide additional project information to potential contractors and gather industry feedback regarding the upcoming granite block replacement work. The government seeks cost-effective solutions from general contractors who can conduct value engineering design analyses, propose repair methods, and provide construction management support while working within the constraints of the tunnel environment. Contractors must be experienced in working with Hardy granite block materials and capable of managing all aspects of the repair project, including providing as-built drawings, equipment, labor, supervision, and detailed operation and maintenance documentation. Pre-registration is required for the onsite visit, with participants needing to complete visitation authority forms that include comprehensive biographical information and documentation requirements, particularly for non-U.S. citizens. The project falls under NAICS code 238120 for Structural Steel and Precast Concrete Contractors, indicating the specialized nature of the construction work involved.
