About this opportunity
The Bureau of Reclamation seeks trash collection and disposal services at Canyon Ferry Reservoir near Helena, Montana, with proposals due June 17, 2026, at 4:30 PM Mountain Daylight Time. Amendment 0002, effective May 28, 2026, extended the original June 11 deadline; offerors must acknowledge receipt of both Amendment 0001 (increasing White Earth Campground bins from two to three 4-yard units during May–September) and Amendment 0002 prior to submission or face rejection.
Place of performance spans nine locations: Canyon Ferry Office, Canyon Ferry Powerplant, and Magpie Ware Yard (year-round service), plus seven campgrounds—Riverside, Court Sheriff, Chinamen's, Jo Bonner, Hellgate, and White Earth (seasonal May 1–September 30). The contractor furnishes all labor, equipment, materials, and supplies; maintains 4 bins year-round at permanent locations and 20–21 bins seasonally at campgrounds; collects Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; responds to removal requests within two days; and disposes waste at approved landfills. NAICS code is 562111, Solid Waste Collection; PSC is S205, Housekeeping–Trash/Garbage Collection.
Contract runs July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, with four optional 1-year extensions and a 6-month extension, spanning volumes of 1,424 cubic yards annually in full years and 712 cubic yards in the extension period. Offerors submit price per cubic yard for all locations and periods. Evaluation weights past performance and technical capability equally and considers them more important than price. Service Contract Labor Standards apply; minimum wage is $24.43 per hour for refuse collectors. Required insurance includes workers' compensation ($100,000 minimum), general liability ($500,000 per occurrence), and auto liability ($200,000 per person / $500,000 per occurrence). Contracting officer: Michael I. Hirsch, michael_hirsch@ios.doi.gov.
