The Bureau of Reclamation, Upper Colorado Basin, Albuquerque Area Office, has issued a pre-solicitation notice for blasting services to produce 50,000 cubic yards of 16-24-inch riprap at Red Canyon Mine located 8 miles southwest of Socorro, New Mexico. This construction project will operate under a Bureau of Land Management Mineral Material Free Use Permit, with the resulting riprap material to be used for river maintenance and flood control projects as authorized by the Flood Control Act of 1948. The government anticipates awarding a firm fixed-price construction contract with an anticipated performance period from November 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026. The work will be performed at a single location under an existing mineral material permit, with the government retaining ownership of the extracted materials for use in federal flood control and river maintenance projects.
