About this opportunity
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source contract to Care and Health Program to conduct a monkeypox virus ecology methods workshop in Cameroon, perform ecological investigations of potential MPXV reservoirs in wildlife in regions with reported cases, and provide diagnostic testing on collected samples over a period of up to four years. Care and Health Program will generate reports on completion of the workshop and investigations and submit quarterly reports for laboratory diagnostics. Responses to the notice of intent must be received by January 24, 2024.
There is no set-aside designation. The work involves conducting public health projects in Cameroon for over 25 years, including fieldwork in areas with reported mpox cases. As the incumbent contractor, only Care and Health Program possesses the unique expertise working with local populations and authorities in Cameroon required to safely perform the work within the necessary timeframe. The justification cites these factors as the basis for the sole source award.
