About this opportunity

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has published a Special Notice regarding their intent to procure motors through a sole source acquisition with Central Florida Yamaha, located in Lake Placid, Florida. This procurement falls under NAICS Code 333618 and will be conducted using FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The DEA anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price purchase order for this requirement. The notice was posted on September 10, 2025, and serves as advance notification of the agency's procurement intentions. This is not a competitive solicitation but rather a sole source justification notice as required by federal acquisition regulations.

The primary purpose of this notice is to provide other potential vendors an opportunity to demonstrate their capability to meet the government's motor requirements before the DEA proceeds with the sole source award. Interested contractors must submit capability statements electronically to Monica.J.Gehrer@dea.gov by September 25, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. Eastern Time. The government retains full discretion to determine whether to open the requirement to competition based on responses received. No Request for Quotation is currently available, and this notice explicitly states it is not a request for competitive quotation. The sole source justification will be posted 14 days after contract award in accordance with FAR requirements. Vendors must demonstrate they can meet the specific government requirements detailed in the original procurement need to be considered as potential alternative sources.
