About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking a source for a motor starter (NSN 7H-6110-015789883) with a specific technical designation of PL-2058F84G01. The agency requires a single unit to be delivered to the Distribution Depot in Puget Sound, Bremerton, WA. This procurement is unique because the Navy does not possess the technical data to produce the item internally, and it has been determined to be a sole-source procurement. To be considered, potential contractors must complete a Source Approval Request (SAR)-Maritime and undergo a technical review by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to demonstrate manufacturing capabilities. Interested companies must be certified as a Depot Overhaul Point (DOP), and the technical review process can be lengthy. Proposals for remanufactured, surplus, or repaired items will be automatically considered non-responsive.
The opportunity is set aside for total small business participation and will be awarded under FAR 6.302-1 authority, which allows for non-competitive negotiation. Proposals received within 45 days of publication will be considered, with potential award contingent on meeting specific qualification requirements. The procurement may be subject to Free Trade Agreements and Buy American Act provisions, depending on the final solicitation details. While no specific award value is mentioned, the contract involves procuring a single electrical control equipment item. Potential vendors must be prepared for a comprehensive evaluation process that includes technical capability assessment, manufacturing certification, and compliance with specific Navy technical requirements. The acquisition is categorized under PSC Category 6110 for Electrical Control Equipment, indicating a specialized technical procurement focused on precise military specifications.
