About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research for a hydraulic motor with NSN 1650-01-669-3494, part number 571999. The procurement aims to determine if additional sources can satisfy the agency's requirements and identify potential commercial or non-developmental items that meet their needs. The solicitation, numbered SPRHA1-25-R-0115, is seeking 14 units of the specified motor with an estimated delivery schedule extending to September 30, 2027. Interested parties must submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations by December 18, 2024, with contact information directed to Kitty Lam at 385-519-8190 or michelle.parker.2@us.af.mil. The government is utilizing authority under 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1), indicating limited sourcing options and potential challenges in obtaining alternative supply sources.
The procurement is not set aside for small businesses and appears to have limited competitive opportunities, with EATON identified as the primary potential supplier for the hydraulic motor. Foreign participation is not permitted at the prime contractor level, and the government has determined it would be uneconomical to reverse engineer the part or purchase additional data rights. The contract duration is currently to be determined, but the archive date extends to December 18, 2025. The procurement falls under NAICS code 336413 for Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing, with a product service code of 1650 for Aircraft Hydraulic, Vacuum, and De-Icing System Components. While no specific award value is mentioned, the requirement appears specialized and potentially high-value given the technical specificity and limited sourcing options.
