Contracted facilities must obtain state and local permits and 15 certified death certificate copies. Cremation services are limited to subsequent remains and autopsy organs only, with cremation fragments reduced to no more than one-eighth inch. Facility standards mandate separate preparation rooms with nonporous flooring, proper plumbing and ventilation per OSHA requirements, functional aspirators and eyewash stations, and controlled access with security signage.
