About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to conduct market research for the Modular Remote Disassembly System (MRDS). The MRDS will leverage commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) milling and drilling machines to support Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technicians during Level 1 and 2 Ordnance Exploitation. The MRDS must meet specific requirements including drilling, milling, cutting, pressing, and torquing capabilities, as well as vision system, lubrication, and control unit specifications. The Marine Corps is requesting vendor information on pricing, production lead time, current contracts, product specifications, small business status, and availability for testing. Responses are due by May 10, 2024, and no industry day is planned.
This is not a Request for Proposals, and no final solicitation documents exist at this time. The government has not made a commitment for procurement action. There is no set-aside designation, and the main NAICS and PSC codes are not provided. The Marine Corps estimates a buy of 25 MRDS systems, but the potential award value or budget range is not specified. There is no information provided on any potential incumbents or current contractors.
