About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Basin Yuma Area Office is seeking qualified contractors to perform replacement and repair of concrete canal panels for the Main Outlet Drain (MOD), Main Outlet Drain Extension (MODE), and US Bypass Canals located in Yuma, Arizona. This construction project will be solicited and awarded under FAR Part 36 (Construction Contracts) and FAR Part 15 (Contracting by Negotiation) methods, with the government contemplating award of a single firm-fixed-price contract. Eligible offerors must possess a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number, maintain active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM), and complete all required online representations and certifications. The solicitation documents are expected to be posted to beta.SAM.gov on or about January 23, 2026, with all proposals required to be submitted electronically through SAM.gov. All dates referenced in this notice are estimates and subject to change, and no additional information will be available prior to the formal solicitation posting.
This procurement is designated as a 100% HUBZone set-aside, restricting competition to HUBZone-certified small businesses. The project is classified under NAICS code 237990 (Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction) with a small business size standard of $45 million. The estimated contract value ranges between $500,000 and $1,000,000, making this a moderate-sized construction endeavor. The project involves comprehensive work on three canal systems within a specific geographic area in Arizona, with the expectation of a single contract award rather than multiple awards. Interested parties should begin preparing their qualifications and registrations immediately to ensure readiness for proposal submission when the formal solicitation is released.
