About this opportunity
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has issued a Special Notice for a sole source procurement with G2K Labs, Inc., located in McLean, Virginia, for modifications to existing G2K Labs software systems. This procurement will be conducted under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures as a firm fixed-price purchase order, with a NAICS code of 334290 for Other Communications Equipment Manufacturing. The notice was posted on September 17, 2025, and serves as an advance notification of the DEA's intent to negotiate directly with G2K Labs rather than conduct an open competition. While this is primarily a sole source acquisition, the agency has provided an opportunity for other vendors to demonstrate their capabilities. The procurement specifically involves a Provisioning Interface License for migrating from Ericsson H1-CORBA to H1-SOAP interface, with performance scheduled from September 30, 2025, to September 29, 2026.
The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to fulfill transparency requirements while allowing the DEA to proceed with necessary modifications to a customized G2K Labs system that was originally installed in March 2022. Contractors who believe they can meet the government's requirements may submit capability statements by the deadline of September 22, 2025, at 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time to Nathan.J.Wright@dea.gov. All submissions must be made electronically, and the government retains sole discretion to determine whether to open the requirement to competition based on received capability statements. The sole source justification indicates that G2K Labs is the only reasonably available source for these services, as switching to alternative solutions would result in significant cost increases and operational delays. This is classified as a non-recurring requirement under DAC Number D-25-ST-0396, emphasizing the specialized nature of the existing system that requires modification rather than replacement.
