About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command, through its Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC), is hosting Industry Days for a Modernized VLF Receiver Capability program on February 12-13, 2025, at MITRE Headquarters in Bedford, Massachusetts. The VLF Enterprise Program Office (EPO) will use this event to provide technical information and solicit feedback on requirements for designing, developing, testing, certifying, and producing a modern Very Low Frequency (VLF) receiver for multiple United States Air Force systems. The event will be conducted at the SECRET classification level, requiring attendees to have appropriate security clearance. All presentations and discussions will focus on technical and engineering aspects of the proposed VLF receiver capability. The government intends to use this industry engagement to inform a future Request for Proposal (RFP) for the program.

Interested contractors must pre-register by January 31, 2025, at 5:00 PM EST by emailing Matt Daly with specific company information including name, company, CAGE code, phone, and email address. Attendees are expected to have personnel capable of engaging in detailed engineering discussions about the VLF receiver program. Participants must submit Visit Access Requests (VARs) to both AFNWC/NC and MITRE, following specific submission guidelines. The government plans to publish a list of attendees to encourage subcontracting opportunities. Eligible participants should be prepared for a comprehensive two-day technical exchange that will cover topics such as acquisition strategy, security requirements, candidate platforms, technical specifications, platform integration, modularity, and environmental requirements. The event aims to gather industry insights and expertise to support the development of a modernized VLF receiver capability for critical Air Force systems.
