Added: Dec 03, 2009 9:59 pm NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) intends to issue a Request for Proposal(RFP) for the Axial Thrusters for the Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS) Project. The scopeof work for this procurement entails the Contractor providing the facilities, personnel,services, tools, equipment, and materials for the Axial Thrusters in accordance with theAxial Thrusters Statement of Work, Specification, and Deliverable Items List andSchedule, which will be provided with issuance of the RFP.This procurement will be a full and open competition. NASA/GSFC anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed-Price type contract for this effort with ananticipated award date on or about February/March 2010.The Government does not intend to acquire commercial items using FAR Part 12. See NASASpecific Numbered Note 26 -- this can be accessed at the following URL:http://genesis.gsfc.nasa.gov/nasanote.html . The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is336415, with a corresponding size standard in number of employees of 1,000.The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about December 18, 2009, with ananticipated offer closing date on or about January 19, 2010. The actual due date forreceipt of offers will be stated in the prospective RFP. Upon issuance of the RFP, allqualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by thisagency. An Ombudsman has been appointed -- see NASA Specific Numbered Note B. This can beaccessed at the following URL: http://genesis.gsfc.nasa.gov/nasanote.html . The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over theInternet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may beaccessed using a WWW browser application.
