About this opportunity
The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center at Hill Air Force Base issued a Request for Information on July 24, 2026, with responses due by August 10, 2026, to assess industry capability to design, develop, test, and implement an AI-powered software tool for the Minuteman III program; this is market research only and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to fund.
The tool must provide centralized data query, assessment, and enhanced visualization of complex technical data from approximately 60 disparate MMIII data sources. About 60 percent of these sources expose machine-readable interfaces; 40 percent require access through legacy systems, file shares, technical documents, or manual exports. The contractor must achieve 95 percent data source connectivity and 99 percent search result accuracy, with error-free technical file rendering and intuitive navigation of 2D/3D drawings and functional flow diagrams. The Government expects solutions satisfying STINFO, Cyber, and Impact Level requirements, including handling Controlled Unclassified Information at Impact Level 5 initially and potentially Secret data at Impact Level 6 in future efforts. No preferred technology stack or hosting environment is mandated; contractors must design the complete data ingestion, transformation, synchronization, and query architecture. Key deliverables include a Project Management Plan within 30 days of award, monthly status reports, quarterly Program Management Review briefing materials, the fully functional AI tool, and technical documentation with system architecture diagrams and user manuals. Responses should be directed to Contracting Officer Kristen Cross at kristen.cross.2@us.af.mil and Contract Specialist Garrett McFarland at garrett.mcfarland@us.af.mil.
Notice text
THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. REQUESTS FOR SOLICITATION WILL NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) (or solicitation) or an indication that a contractual commitment will exist for this requirement. The Government will not fund the information solicited. The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) located at Hill Air Force Base is requesting information, pursuant to RFO Part 10, in support of market research. The Government is not providing any other associated technical data as part of this RFI.
PURPOSE
The United States Air Force’s main purpose of this RFI is to determine whether there are capable industry sources with the expertise, experience, and resources necessary to design, develop, test, and implement an Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered software tool. This tool will provide a centralized data query and assessment capability, as well as enhanced visualization of complex technical data, for the Minuteman III (MMIII) program. See attached Performance Work Statement (PWS).
Please send all responses to the Contracting Officer, Kristen Cross, at kristen.cross.2@us.af.mil and the Contract Specialist, Garrett McFarland, at garrett.mcfarland@us.af.mil.
