About this opportunity
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division seeks to procure a pneumatic bore cleaning system from Ordnance Cleaning System to support the MK45 Gun System. The system must be able to travel from the muzzle to the chamber without being turned off or reconfigured, possess vibration-based motion, include an oil dispenser and de-coppering function, and generate less than 85dB of sound. Proposals are due by October 1, 2019.
No set-aside will be used. Ordnance Cleaning System, located in Mentor, Ohio, is identified as the only company able to meet the requirement. SYNOPSIS: MK 45 Pneumatic Bore Cleaning System
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD) - Picatinny Detachment, intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price contract on a Sole Source basis to Ordnance Cleaning System (OCS), Mentor, OH for the procurement of a Pneumatic Bore Cleaning System supporting the MK45 Gun System. OCS is the only company that can meet the Governments requirement of a pneumatic cleaning system that can travel from the muzzle to the chamber and back without being turned off or reconfigured; possesses a vibration based motion; has a built in oil dispenser and de-coppering function; and having sound less than 85Db so hearing protection is not required. The intended contract will consist of a base year only. This synopsis is for informational purposes only. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1.
This Solicitation will be restricted under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1; Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
